LOL was one of the very first "new" imported drugstore brands that had set-up displays at WATSONS.
Although I did try out and loved their bronzer (see post here), I had doubts about their cream product.
When I got back from the field, I was really tanned and not one of my foundation matched my skin.
It was high time for a summer foundation and much-needed shopping trip to WATSONS.
There were several options (e.g. E.L.F.) and LOL was one of the cheapest with their foundations at P139.00 - so affordable!
Sadly, most drugstore foundations are just way too light. I do not know what tanned girls do! There's not enough options for the more tanned of us and I love it when I'm tanned.
LOL to the rescue!
The product comes in a clear plastic tube. The labels are stuck on instead of stamped.
The nozzle is pretty tiny so you do get a lot of control.
Consistency: on the viscous side.
Don't get scared. It will look way too dark when you squeeze the product out.
It's not very runny, which brought me some blending-fears.
BUT, this product blends beautifully.
This was the tannest liquid foundation that matched my skin tone PERFECTLY!
There was a darker variant but that was red-toned and did not match my yellow-toned skin.
02 Medium Beige was perfect!
I applied the LOL Liquid Foundation on the left side of my face,
leaving the right side bare.
The coverage is light to medium.
What I Enjoy (PROs)
+ Affordable
+ Not too runny
+ Blends like a dream
+ Evens out the skin, making it appear airbrushed (use stippling brush)
+ Demi-matte finish. My t-zone gets pretty oily naturally. Just use blotting sheets.
+ Excellent staying power. Up to 6-8 hours.
TIPS (with CONS):
- Doesn't complete cover redness or dark circles
- Blend well, if using fingers. I just use a stippling brush to make it easier.
- Swatch in the store. The color in the packaging goes darker than when applied.
- Let the foundation set before applying powder.
The best bit is it looks flawless or "air brushed" when under the sun or photography.
I've gotten so many compliments when using this foundation.
I use my mini kabuki brush (see post here) with the powder.
Hope this helps :)
xo,
Pau
