I picked this up as part of a mini-haul from MERCURY DRUG, Philcoa.
I loved a lot of MAYBELLINE New York make-up and decided to try their liners.
Once can never have too much eye liners ;)
MAYBELLINE New York
EYESTUDIO
Crayon Liner in Black
P149.00
The pencil is in a plastic and cardboard "box" and the pencil itself is further wrapped in another layer of plastic.
I appreciate how sanitary the packaging is and it's quite important that you know you're the only person who have used your liner.
It goes so close to your eye and you don't want any eye infections.
Electric pink lines go across the pencil's body. Cute!
It promises to be waterproof, smudgeproof, and soft and smooth application.
MAYBELLINE makes a lot of promises and they do well with some products.
The only mascara that I use is the MAYBELLINE Hypercurl Waterproof.
The smudge on the extreme right is my fault. I wasn't paying attention when I was testing out the pencil. My bad.
Please ignore my sun damaged hands. It's a souvenir from fieldwork.
Here's my peepers without any make-up.
I don't have any make-up on my face. Even my eyebrows aren't groomed :P
My lids are naturally reddish for some reason.
Here's a sweep of the liner on my upper lash line. Tight lining is the trickiest thing ever.
My watery eyes are not from the liner. It's from tight lining.
The liner applies on soft and smooth as promised. It stays true to black all the way.
I have pretty small eyes that are drowned out by my specs.
So, I prefer dramatic liners. It's a sort of thick cat eye.
Mind that the liner is pencil and you have to sharpen before every use to keep the line clean.
Apart form some smudging due to my super oily lids, the product holds up pretty nicely.
After a few hours of use in our humidity, the liner does smudge to a panda eye (especially when I tight line).
It might help to set the liner with dark powder or gel liner.
The smudging starts after a few hours and continues. *sigh*
The liner was not made for this humidity.
To be fair, I haven't found a liner that stays put in this climate.
For its price, it is pretty decent. But don't expect miracles.
It is still the creamiest affordable eye liner out there. But I will not be repurchasing.
It smudges, and that's that.
I'm sure another affordable liner would be out in the market by the time I'm done with this.
Hope you enjoyed!
