Craving for chicken?
Take a bite off of Homies fried chicken!
Homies is a Fried Chicken place also offering other Filipino dishes.
It's situated along Magiting Street from Maginhawa St.
It's right next to Chilli & Ink and across from Big B Burger.
If you're on a Maginhawa St. food trip, Magiting Street is a side-street that shouldn't be missed!
THE PLACE:
It has a casual dining feel with proper tables and chairs.
It's also fully air-conditioned with a small-ish parking space.
WALL DECOR
Typical of Maginhawa St. restaurants,
this place is bursting with art pieces.
And, the (mandatory) message board.
The last three are my fave pieces from there.
The chicken decor on the counter is a nice touch :P
There's also a bizzare painted rubber chicken propped on a customized wooden stand on every table.
It's looking right at you.
A lot of diners appreciate the unli(mited) rice option.
The drink is either juice or iced tea.
We got the half chicken for P99 and Tita Delia's Lumpia for P35.
The chicken is fairly good sized and the lumpia isn't vegetarian.
You get ketchup for the chicken, served in a tiny tin pail! So cute! Great home decor idea!
The lumpia is served with vinegar that you can spice up to your liking.
I would have loved to try to the sorbetes but we were going out to Tokyo Bubble Tea for cake and shake.
The food was great, especially the chicken.
It reminded me of Max's famous chicken.
But the service wasn't great.
There were only two tables occupied, and the other table was already served.
That left just us. And we still had to wait a while for the girls (two of them, one doubled as the cashier) to get our orders.
If you are willing to wait, then it's not that bad.
SELFIE TIME!
There's a lot of time for selfies.
We had to wait a long time.
That's our rubber chicken behind me.
Don't worry, every table has them.
I'm wearing MAYBELLINE NEW YORK The Elixer Color Sensational in 020 Signature Scarlet from this haul.
I'm wearing Chic in Bluebelle Grape (see post here).
