"DE-POT" your moisturizer!
ST. IVES TIMELESS SKIN
COLLAGEN ELASTIN MOISTURIZER
I was on a hunt for an age-defying moisturizer from a brand I hadn't tried before.
I'm a big fan of St. Ives' Apricot Scrub so I really wanted to try this.
Unfortunately, this came in a whopping 293g tub.
This will last you a year! For around P300, this is a good deal.
The consistency is more of a whipped cream/mouse than a lotion, which I adore.
It is easily absorbed into the skin - great for daytime use.
It leaves the skin feeling smooth and hydrated.
But it's not sticky nor heavy at all.
The problem is that I am uneasy about opening this big tub every morning.
It's not hygienic as bacteria can hop in there every time I open the lid.
I don't want it to get to a point where I can't use half the tub because of accidents, etc.
TRANSFERRING THE MOISTURIZER TO A SMALLER AND MORE MANAGEABLE TUB IS THE KEY!
It's really easy to just put it in a smaller container.
ADVANTAGE:
Easier to travel with a smaller tub
Personalize your container
Less bacteria
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
a container of your choice
spoon
cotton swabs
1. I chose a small glass jam jar. I think glass containers are fancier :P
2. The small spoon I'm using here is upcycled McFlurry spoon.
3. Cotton swabs are a must to pick up product, especially for sticky products.
HOW TO:
STEP 1: Pick up a small amount of product with your spoon.
Half of the spoon will do. You do not want to return product into the giant tub once it's picked up by the spoon.
STEP 2: Transfer the product in to your container until the container is a quarter full.
Take your time.
STEP 3: Take a cotton swab and take all the product from the spoon into the jar.
Once you do this, I don't suggest putting the spoon back into the giant tub to get more product.
If need be, get a another clean spoon.
It's going to look really messy.
STEP 4: Tap the bottle gently on a flat surface until the product settles.
You can also take the cotton swab and clean up the edges.
Here you go! Your mini-tub of product is complete.
I have two jam jars here. The gold one is for my vanity and the silver is for travel.
You can make as many tubs as you like.
To refill a tub, wash the stub and sanitize the interior with alcohol-on-tissue.
Let it dry and go to STEP 1.
Enjoy!
