I hauled this polish a few weeks ago (here) as my go-to yellow based gold polish.
I had such high hopes for this because BOBBIE has great quality polish, especially the glitter ones.
Here's my experience with Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in Mint Daquiri!
It looks magnificent in the bottle with all the tiny gold shimmer in a light yellow gold base.
I love how the color (in the bottle) looks when it catches the light.
And then, I put it on and it was just not doing it for me.
As I've suspected, the first layer was very translucent.
It looks like a clear polish with a bit of glitter. This may work for some, but that's NOT what I wanted.
I wanted opaque. In the least, a build-able polish that I can work with.
But after four layers, this is what I ended up with.
In strong direct light, it could pass for opaque. But for any other form of lighting, it's obviously still translucent.
However, it is truly sparkly (think: ruby slippers or sequins covered evening gown).
It delivers the sparkle but the base is lacking in pigmentation.
It's not a really bad polish. It just didn't meet my high expectation.
This is especially since they have better polishes (i.e. 2012 Holiday Collection).
The tiny glitter particles are gorgeous!
There's gold, blue and red glitters in the formula, giving it a duo-chrome look.
I may just need to find ways of making this work for me.
