We're about to go into 2013. Another year has passed!
For those of us who are going into their late 20s, it's time to think about the future.
What I mean is wrinkles!!! I had been avoiding thinking about wrinkles for a while, even though anti-ageing product commercials say that 25 is the time to start anti-wrinkle beauty regimens.
Let me share some anti-wrinkle beauty resolutions for 2013 to start wrinkle prevention!

1) START USING NIGHT CREAMS AT NIGHT
Choose a night cream with RETINOL in it. This ingredient helps boost collagen production to keep your skin supple.
You have to use this at night as your skin might react badly when exposed to the sun.
It's a good thing that I've already found a great night cream.
I have trouble keeping up with applying it every night as I'd come home late and be too tired to do anything :(
In 2013, I vow to be better at it!

2) USE SUNSCREEN
This is a little difficult as you really don't see immediate effects of daily sunscreen application.
But this is very important as sun damage is real and it is not fun.
Even if you spend most of your time in the city, and you think that you can escape sun damage by hiding under shadows, you still have to use sunscreen!
I've seen what prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can do to your skin.
After a few years going out in the field, staying under the scorching sun all day, the back of my hands had started to get freckly. Imagine if that was your face?!

3) BEAUTY SERUMS!
I am one of those girls who has trouble with adding new products into their skin care regimen.
Basically, what I look for is a light day cream and a hardcore night cream.
I've never really considered beauty serums, because I was aiming more of hydration.
But time has come to add something extra. Serums do not offer as much hydration as creams but they pack a lot of nutrients and specifically targets your problem areas!
This is a good investment for your skin's future!
✧
4) SIX WEEKS TRIAL (instead of four weeks)
I used to try products continuously for 4 weeks. If I don't see results, I stop using it.
Besides a lot of products advertise that you'd see obvious results within 4 weeks at the most.
Apparently, that's not enough time for face products.
You need at least six weeks to see any effects.

5) EXFOLIATE!
This is classic! Everyone knows that you need to get rid of your dead skin cells.
However, this isn't so true for ladies in their 30s.
The skin doesn't produce as much dead skin cells by that time, so exfoliating isn't so good anymore.
So, for those in their late 20s, this is probably the last few years when you should regularly exfoliate.
Exfoliate when it's still ok. When it's not, then that's one less beauty thing you need to do :P

What are your beauty resolutions?

I love your beauty resolutions! I never use night creams or serum, I don't know how to include them in my routine or how to use them or which one to buy. I never use sunscreen except for the SPF in my foundation, it counts right? I hope so haha.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!
Thanks Meeline! I'm just starting to get into a daily habit of using them myself. But sunscreen really is a must here. I just wish that sunscreen doesn't make me a ghost in pictures >.<
