It's the month of gift giving. For me, this means special treats for myself! Woo!
I work really hard for my money by holding three part-time jobs (flexible schedule and higher hourly rates FTW!).
So, I thought that treating myself this Christmas Season would be good for my morale :P

As soon as our 13th month pay got released, I dragged the boyfriend to the mall to get this (below) baby.
It's the LG-C199 QWERTY phone. It's no android and is pretty old model and it isn't an android phone (it's wifi though).
I'm not choosy about the kind of phone I have. Just as long as it works :P
What I really wanted was a qwerty phone from a brand I haven't tried yet.
Yes, I basically choose phones the same way I shop for beauty products! LOL!

NEW BABY
My phone came in that white LG bag and was housed in that box.
TIP: Keep the receipt in the box and stack it somewhere.
This is so you would know exactly where the receipt is just in case you need to take it back to the shop.

We bought her at TRINOMA at the phone/electronics section (ask the guards).
There are a few phone shops lined up. But the boyfriend and I value good service.
So we picked the shop with the best customer service, so we could have a sales person who is well-informed and would take the time to help us.
Luckily, the same shop had the best prices and the widest selection of both high-end and low-end phones, as the boyfriend was going for higher end ones.

UNBOXING
When you open your brand new unit, it'd still be wrapped in that awful plastic that kills sea creatures.
I also keep all the plastic in box. I wish that there'd find an alternative for all that plastic!

MIRROR, MIRROR
I have to admit that one of the reasons that I fell in-love with this phone was the mirrored LCD.
All you need is a bit of light to hit the LCD and it turns into a good mirror for when I apply lipstick.
Yes, I made sure that my phone would do that for me ;)

ACCESSORIES
The unit came with a cable, headphones, manual w/ warranty slips, and a cd that has the program to sync your phone to your pc (which isn't really necessary unless you want optimum efficiency).
Mind that you will need to get yourself an SD card if you want to maximize the use of your phone.
I didn't get one as I won't be using it for other things not texting, calling, facebook and twitter.
No, I do not blog on my phone as I don't feel as inspired.

DUALITY
Here's another feature that I was looking for in a phone: DUAL SIM!
I have two sims, like a lot of other people, and I don't want to get rid of any of them.
I'm not on a post-paid plan, but I don't want to go through the trouble of giving out my new number to all my contacts.

SUPERSTAR
Here's a gratuitous portrait (?) of my phone.
This model is simple, yet functional. I chose the chic metal gray and black unit.
It's thin but it's a bit wider than most other qwerty. That's much better for me as I find it difficult to work with phones with tiny keypads.
I tried using a touch screen but it's too frustrating for me.
There are just some people who prefer old school keypads.

I got this model for less than 4,000php.
It's not bad for the price. Admittedly, there are android phones out there for that much.
But I didn't really take to the china made phones.
It's not that they are bad. I just don't want to get them right now. Maybe, in the future, I would get myself one of those cute flip ones.

Always remember to get yourself a little treat every end of a long and arduous year.
It's great for morale and would help you work harder for next year.
Never forget that this is the season for giving...
