The Mayans might have been predicting my personal doomsday.

This year saw the end of some of my favorite shows: GOSSIP GIRL and MERLIN BBC. 

I love those two shows for different reasons. But they have striking similarities. 

Join me as I bid farewell to these lovelies.

!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!

This last episode is absolute fan service and tying of more popular loose ends.

As usual, everyone ends up with someone and everyone is happy.

The penultimate episode ended in a cliff hanger sans gossip girl's narration.

That alone left me bare. It's like a foreshadowing of what it's like without GG!

Anyhow, Chuck and Blair flee and Dan tries to stop Serena from doing the same (different situation).

Blair's happy ending happens in a blue Elie Saab. The dress is gorgeous, following the current non-white wedding dress trend.

Makes me think of my own wedding day, which would be as private as Blair's.

Chuck's suit is nothing short of extra-ordinary.
I won't post photos of the actual scene. You shouldn't get spoilers as it'll ruin the moment.

I love this series! They didn't cop out of the "gossip girl" reveal. I had my money on Little J!
There cameo appearances of a lot of guest stars, even Vanessa. PLUS, our dear narrator, Katie Bell.

Leaving on a good note: They tied it up nice with Serena's wedding.
Serena embodied her golden-girl persona by wearing a gold and white gown.

MERLIN BBC says goodbye with it's final season airing on Christmas Eve.
I must say that I'm so behind on the eps. But I just can't bear to watch it knowing these will be the last few eps of the series.
I love this series to death. It's about courage and selflessness and cheekbones.

This series brought me so much joy.
Out of that joy came a 5 part epic fanfic series. Currently, there's 100k words spread on two chapters.
One day, when I'm over the depression, I will be able to pick this up with my co-writer.
Writing about these delightful characters has been a joy.

Thank you Merlin BBC for the wonderful 4 years (I missed S01). I have willingly given you my time, my art, my love... and those parts of me will end with you. As Jonathan Stroud has proven, we need to let some things go in order to be epic.

Of course, thank you Colin Morgan, whose smile can light up the immediate vicinity, for the inspiration. I will always admire you and love you in the same heat as the first time you flashed your smile in S01E01. As Slash Dragon has narrated: no young man, no matter how great, can know his destiny. I am looking forward to seeing your talent blossom even more.
