I'm suddenly all about cats...
Well, not so suddenly. I've always been known as a cat person, rather than a dog person. Funny that the people I'm most closest to are all dog persons (or people persons for those who dislike pets).
I believe that stems from my childhood. Freudian FTW! My grandmother simply adores cats. She adopted so many of these tiny furry critters that she was a legit cat lady. The first kitty she let me "have" was a small tabby. He was a product of too much in breeding so he wasn't so big as the other tabbies. But he was adorably tiny and sneaky. I named him "Lucifer", which can be considered a little messed up.

Our apartment reminds me so much of my life with grandma cat lady. The zigzag-ing alley that leads to my haven (literally, our alley is flanked by somewhat ingeniously built houses akin to "squatters") is filled with cats of all sizes. My favorites are the three black ones. One them had already claimed our front steps as his territory. He sleeps on the top step regardless if he was blocking our way in. He no longer feels the need to scurry away when he sees us. He just blinks very slowly and proceeds to go back to sleep. Yes, he lives there.
I did get a few kitty-pics along the way when the boyfriend and I took the DSLR out.

This little friend is a newbie. He'd been birthed in our alley. I know this as I've seen her when she was a tiny kitten. She has two other siblings.
✿
This is one of the siblings. I couldn't find the other sibling though. S/he must have gone off somewhere.

This kitty doesn't belong in our alley. He lives in campus where life is hard. I believe that he is from the "zombie" cat variety. By that I mean those cats who you've seen somewhat die but see them again, alive, after a few weeks. This cat had a bum leg so he couldn't run away from us like true zombie-cats can. But that's good for me as I was able to take this pic. Don't worry. He has skills enough to be able to survive ;)
