In the hunt for the perfect GOLD polish for the holidays, I came upon two local polishes:
CARONIA NAIL POLISH in frosted GOLDEN SUN
CARONIA NAIL POLISH in frosted GOLDEN SUN
BOBBIE PREMIUM NAIL CREME in glazed MINT DAQUIRI
CARONIA NAIL POLISH in frosted GOLDEN SUN
This color is beautiful on the bottle. It jumps right at you with it's foil texture and golden glitter.
I don't own a lot of CARONIA nail polish as it is slightly more expensive than other polishes, retailing for about P30++.
However, this is a highly trusted brand with beautiful polishes.
One thing though, it dries up quicker than most polishes I've had.
With that, I don't recommend buying this in the biggest or medium size.
There are smaller polish bottles available and you should get those when you can.
BOBBIE PREMIUM NAIL CREME in glazed MINT DAQUIRI
I got this well before the CARONIA polish. It's cheaper (smaller sized bottled though) and I've had a very good experience with the 2012 Holiday Collection from BOBBIE PREMIUM NAIL CREME.
I still am very much in love with that collection. Sadly, I don't think they've expanded much from it. Oh well, better luck next year.
This has a golden tinted base with lots of gold and silver glitter.
Mind that there are some glazed with a more opaque base. I was hoping that this would be one of them as those polishes with opaque bases needs less coating to become vibrant.
Here they are applied together on my thumbnail.
CARONIA's GOLDEN SUN's foil gives a much better gold color payoff.
However, if you're looking for lots of glitter, BOBBIE's MINT DAQUIRI is the way to go.
Sorry that the last picture is blurry. It's really hard to get my camera to focus on its own :P
As you can see, CARONIA's GOLDEN SUN can bubble. I didn't experience that with BOBBIE's MINT DAQUIRI.
Mind that it takes at least 3 coats to get BOBBIE's MINT DAQUIRI to be opaque.
I honestly like them both very much.
It just depends on which polish texture you prefer.
xo, Pau
