One of the first affordable B.B. Creams in the market, I remember the hype this created.
I was all over this product, needless to say. I got one and I was gifted another one by a friend.
I am a big fan of tinted moisturizer as those tend to feel light. It's perfect for humid days in THE ISLAND (lol).
I did a lot of walking back then, to and from classes, going to work, etc.
That made regular foundations very heavy for me. So, I thought this was perfect.
I usually mostly wear this in the summer, when it's not forgiving. Then go back to my regular foundations in the monsoon months.
August is probably the last month I'll use this regularly than my regular foundations.
This product is different because it's infused with mineral make-up making it last longer.
The packaging is very pretty. I love the teal color. And, it's very light weight. That makes it great to carry around on the go in your purse or make-up bag. Sorry that my product is very dirty. It's been jostling in my bag this past month. Before that, it had been sitting in my vanity with my other face products. Those dirty things are mostly product transfers when I've accidentally touched this with foundation covered fingers. >.<
Twist the cap off and the product comes out of this nozzle. I like that it dispenses very small amount even though the product is very runny.
As you can see here, this is one squeeze. The product has the consistency of fluid moisturizers.
I don't really mind the consistency as it makes it easier to blend with your fingers.
This makes for very fast application, which is something I'm favoring nowadays.
One of problems I've heard from other beauty girls when B.B. Creams first came out is the lack of color range.
B.B. Creams do not require a wide color range because they are suppose to oxidize and match your skin tone.
I find the MAYBELLINE B.B. Cream to do just that as you can see below.
In just a few seconds, the product is already starting to turn yellow (matching my undertone).
Heat from your fingers also activates the oxidation process, so it's really best to apply it with your fingers.
Here, I've just spread it around a bit.
Continue blending until even. As you can see above, it's not the pale beige that it was before.
It has completely matched my skin tone.
It's shiny in the picture as it has a dewy finish, instead of a matte finish.
Mind that it has SPF which gives a white cast on pictures as it is here.
It doesn't have a lot of coverage as it wasn't really designed to do that.
Instead, it evens out the skin tone making your skin look healthy but not polished.
However, I do know that there are other B.B. Cream promising a matted and polished look.
It acts a lot like a tinted moisturizer. In fact, upon application you won't really see much difference.
However, I feel like this B.B. Cream lasted a LOT longer than tinted moisturizer. It also has a tad bit more coverage.
My skin appears healthier than when I use my tinted moisturizer.
I usually don't apply powder on top. But if I do, I use a very light weight powder.
♡
Overall, this is a great started product for teens who wants to level up from tinted moisturizer.
However, I did experience break-outs from this B.B. Cream sometimes.
It doesn't always make me break-out but whenever it does, I stop using it until my break-outs heal.
Make sure to cleans your face every night, and try not to touch your face often in the day.
I suspect that it's the reason why I sometimes have break-outs, and might really have nothing to do with this product (lol).
Try it for yourself when you're on a no make-up (or less make-up) day.
x, Pau
