For a while, I've been very good at not shopping.
This is one of the major reasons why I haven't been blogging, really. Plus, I changed jobs, etc.
Now that life is a bit more stable, I figured it's time to get back to blogging. And, shopping.
I'm in dire need of comfortable flats as I have to do a lot of walking from now on.
People keep telling me to go get SOLEMATE shoes. They are supposed to be cheap and comfortable.
Magic words, right there.
❤
Last weekend, I hit SM Department Store, SM North.
SOLEMATE had an amazing collection of creatively cute designs!!!
They have a wide color selection per shoe design.
And the comfort. OMG.

❤
I had the impression that they frequently restock with new designs. Yay!
Plus, they get rid of old stock by putting them on a 2 for P399.25 sale!!!
Contrary to what I had been told, not all shoes are on this deal.
The newer shoe designs retail for about P250++ (I forgot.).
This is CHEAP. If you don't want to wait for the design to go on sale, you can go ahead and purchase a pair right now. You don't have to save for it (much).
Popular sizes (7 and 8) for the more generic colors (e.g. black) fly off the racks. If you really love something, you had better get it immediately.
❤
Although they're really comfortable, I still wanted to road test it.
I totaled about 30mins trying every pair and waiting for the hard-working store attendant to dig through the stockroom and find my shoe size.
Mind that you may need to pick a bigger/smaller shoe size depending on the design.
They do not have half-sizes, which could be a problem.
If the shoe is too loose or too tight, DO NOT get them.
❤
For some reason, I am loving red right now. Naturally, my first pick are a pair of red flats with a red ribbon accent.
ALL of their shoe design so far are cute flats. They're pretty casual so if you're going for corporate shoes, SOLEMATE is not for you.
They lean on the casual side. Because of the comfort they offer, it suits college kids best.
It's great for girls who work at a more casual work environment.
The shoes I picked are solidly on the casual side. But, they also have blinged out shoes.
❤
The insoles are just adorable. The plain flats would usually have printed insoles.
Yes, you can't see the pretty insoles when you have them on. I don't mind.
The ribbon the insole held the tag, but you can also pull it to remove the insole so you can wash it separately.
This design has rubber soles. I specifically wanted this kind of sole for traction.
❤
The other shoe design I picked was much plainer. But I didn't have just plain flats.
Just like the red one, it has printed insoles and rubber soles.
It's pretty plain on the outside. But it's definitely a vintage party on the inside.
I think all SOLEMATE shoes have the logo on the insole.
I think this design is a good wardrobe staple, just in case you're all blinged out already.
Another thing that I considered was the right fit. It should sufficiently cover my toes.
❤
That's what they look like worn.
Yes, I have vein-y dark feet. I spend a lot of time outdoors.
❤
Time for cons. The stitching isn't perfect. You can see threads poking out of where the ribbon detail was sewn.
The material doesn't seem very strong. So, I doubt that they would last me long.
Mind that I walk a LOT.
I'm not sure about the return policy, though. I suppose they follow mall standards.
❤
Having said that, I still really love my shoes.
They might not be the best thing to wear now that it rains in the afternoons.
They have a textile body and would definitely be soaking wet when you walk out into the rain.
Oh well :P
❤
Check out SOLEMATE at SM Department Stores.
They're set-up is a lot like PayLess, where shoe designs are laid out in different sizes.
I find this really convenient and quicker. This way, I wouldn't have to call an attendant every time I want to fit a pair of shoes.
BTW, they also have sandals but I didn't check them out.
❤
Do you have a pair of SOLEMATES?
❤
x, Pau
