I wasn't really interested in how my room smelled until I started watching youtube.com beauty videos, where beauty gurus hauled their favorite candles. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any affordable scented candles to make my room smell gorgeous! I got so frustrated that I was already thinking of saving up for a scented candle. But then, the boyfriend gently pointed out that it's not a good idea to leave a flame burning when our house is filled with my books (read: flammable).
I lived without room scents until I discovered... stick scents!
This is the box in came in. It's very classy and would make a really nice gift for someone who's in to scents.

This product is called the Reed Diffuser. What happens is that the liquid (scent) from the bottle would work its way up the reed sticks and then diffuse as a gas.
❦
The scent I picked is Lavender, my favorite scent ever.
A lot of my cleaning agents have this scent >.<
I don't particularly enjoy wearing lavender perfume, but I love smelling it on my things
❦
I tried to look for Scents & Style online, but they were nowhere to be found :(
I got my scent from the Dollar Shop at Alabang Town Center (ATC).
They were on sale for P69!!!! It came in four scents but I wasn't sure I was going to love it so I only got one in my fave scent.

My 25ml bottle lasted me a whole month! It's worth every penny!

Buying from discount stores, like the Dollar Store, can be tricky. Some of those products are downright knock-offs from popular brands.
But if you're not particular about that, these products work just as well.
Of course, you must scrutinize what you're getting. Make sure to open the box to make sure that you're not missing anything.
I learned this the hard way when I had the boyfriend buy another box when I ran out.
I got 6 reed sticks in my first box, then the boyfriend's purchase only had 5 reed sticks.
It doesn't sound devastating but I believe that the more reed sticks you have, the more scent would come out.

❦❦ HOW TO USE YOUR REED DIFFUSER: ❦❦
❦ You would get reed sticks and a 25ml bottle w/ a stopper. ❦
❦ Remove the stopper from the bottle very carefully. ❦
Getting the liquid on your fingers is not really bad but it's a little hard to wash off.
❦ Take the reed sticks and place it in the bottle. ❦
❦ Leave it alone. ❦
Let it do its magic.
❦
The instructions on the box said that it takes a couple of days until the scent "matures".
There's a lot of truth to this. Don't worry if you don't smell anything for the first few days, especially with new reed sticks.
The liquid needs time to work it's way through the sticks.
After a week, you have to turn the sticks upside down.
❦
On my first bottle, the scent didn't truly blossom until the first week. My sticks were originally bone dry I guess.
My second bottle bloomed much faster since I reused the sticks I had.
TIP: REUSE the sticks you have (if it's the same scent)
❦
Stick diffusers are in malls as well. I saw a kiosk at Greenbelt 5. But I didn't look through them. They looked really expensive and I was pretty happy with the ones I have.
❦
Have you tried this?
