Painting my nails is one of my most favorite activities! I know, I'm such a girl ヅ
I fell in love with the sky blue on this book that I'm reading that I suddenly found myself wanting "mermaid" nails. My definition of mermaid is green + blue + sparkles + chunky glitters. It's a good thing that my current nail collection has everything I need.
Changing nail colors seem to affect my mood in a largely positive way. I started painting my nails back in high school. My interest in nails seem to come and go though. Although painting your nails is fun, it can be quite a task! I like opaque colors so I just keep adding layers after layers for polish. Because there's a good amount of polish on my nails, I end up having to wait forever for it to dry! What a pain.
On happier thoughts... I was inspired by The Magician's Wife by Brian Moore. Don't you just love the pastel colors! It's like a pristine deserted beach. No wonder I love it!
I used these two colors by Bobbie PREMIUM Nail Creme: the green is Candy Cane and the glittery blue is Super Nova. The Candy Cane served as a base. Then, I had two layers of the Super Nova on top. The Super Nova can be very opaque in just a few coats. It's not like the other glitter polishes that needs at least three coats. This is one of my go-to glitter polishes!
Here's the finish product:
I love how the big glitters catch he light! I think the Candy Cane green sparkly base brings out the tiny green sparkles of the Super Nova. You can opt to just have one layer of Super Nova for it to look more on the green side.
Have you painted your nails lately?
