This is one of the perks of going on romantic walks in U.P. Diliman. There's always a mamang sorbetero somewhere. We couldn't pass up the chance for some dirty ice cream.
The picture of mamang sorbetero is a lot blurry. My apologies! My camera wanted to hide his identity see...

Don't be dissuaded by the moniker "dirty ice cream".
They're not dirty. They're just different.
After enjoying our sorbetes, I even asked the boyfriend if he felt poorly.
This is what he replied:

HOW TO PURCHASE YOUR SORBETES
(Here purchased in the parking lot in front of Palma Hall)
✌
THREE'S A (party) CROWD
Mamang Sorbetero usually has three flavors of ice cream in his cart.
Our mamang sorbetero had avocado (green), cookies and cream (white with brown spots) and mango (yellow).
✌
BOTTOM OF THE BARREL
This is the avocado flavor in all its glory.
Mamang Sorbetero's ice cream scoop is very small.
Don't worry he packs the ice cream as high as it will go. More if you're nice to him!
Small talk goes a long way!

✌
DECISIONS...
Choose your cone!
The smallest is the orange wafer cone.
The bigger cone is the waffle cone.
If you want to go big, ask Manong Sorbetero if he has buns to make ice cream sandwich!

✌
SKY HIGH
You can mix and match the flavors you want to get. That day, I picked avocado for the color (it'll look great in pictures. And cookies & cream, my favorite flavor. We decided not to get mango for some reason.
✌
BANG ON THE MONEY
Quickly pay for your ice cream because they melt pretty fast.
This ice cream variety is popularly called "dirty ice cream".
Traditionally, these are made using carabao milk instead of cow's milk

GOOEY
In just a few seconds, my ice cream is beginning to melt.
There's something about melting ice cream that's so delectable.
In photography, they can't use real ice cream because it would just melt under the heat from strong lights.
Instead, they'd use colored mashed potatoes! Still yummy!

DELIGHTS
Enjoy your sorbetes!
Try it for some affordable delights on a hot day.
You can choose to gobble up your ice cream at the stone benches along the Beta Way, like we did. Organic ice cream plus nature, equals win (OIC + N = WIN)
