Yes, it's only been a few days since I've posted about shoes. But... I just can't help it! It's been raining a lot lately, which means I can't wear my nice shoes out. They'd just get muddy and/or be ruined *gasp*! Where else can I express my shoe-lovin' but on the blogosphere, right?
Today, we're going to talk about Rajo Laurel's collection for Parisian (SM Deparment Stores) that he calls "Hanami", which is the Japanese tradition of enjoying the beauty of flowers. It's flower watching in the SM Department Store website, but it's a bit more romantic than that.
Follow the jump and let's embark on the ancient tradition of enjoying the beauty of well-crafted shoes...
According to quotes from Rajo at the launch (which was a while back), Japanese culture had always inspired Rajo. The collection is a lot more "zen" than the previous collection. In that, where last year was vamp and sexy with lots of curves, this time, it was all about clean zen lines.
These are two of the flagship shoes from the collection. The top is the "Sensei" and the bottom is the "Samurai". Of course, the star of the show are the heels. Oh wow... this is scary to walk on but it would look awesome. I love the wood detail for the heels (I'm not sure if it's as heavy as it looks). It makes it a lot earthy. Also, it's a great innovation for the wedges of summer. And since this is so chic, it might also be fit for fall (maybe that's what the shiny details are for).
I personally like Samurai better. It looks more like ninja shoes to me! I would wear this with cropped loose flow-y pants. And a simple tank top. Of course, all this minimalism is perfect for lots of bling (gold and silver combo). I'd throw in that mold-able necklace on my wrist.
Yet, my favorite of the collection is neither of the two zen-shoes. It's in fact the uber victorian sexy ... TAO (below)
I think it was supposed to be inspired by the kimono wrapping. But the color is just so bright and lovely. It looks like your foot hat been wrapped in silk, then the heels were added after. How cool is that?
Props to Rajo Laurel for the wonderful collection!
Which shoe do you love? X, Pau
